Welcome to Little Wren Cooking

Welcome to Little Wren Cooking! Hands on, fun and engaging cooking classes in a relaxed environment teaching you how to make great home food and cake decorating

Classes are limited to 8 people so everyone can get the right guidance and help they need

Home Ed Classes: Monthly, sociable groups making a main dish with sides and a pudding. See the Home Ed tab (and https://www.facebook.com/littlewrencooking) for upcoming classes and menus. Prices from £23 for a 3 hour session, including all of the ingredients used!

Children’s Holiday Classes: Keep them busy during the holidays with a 3 hour class making a main, side and pudding. Session dates are regularly posted on www.facebook.com/littlewrencooking. Prices from £23 for a 3 hour session, including all of the ingredients used.

Adults Classes: Get a group together for a Buttercream Intro or a Fondant Cake Decorating class! Or book a space on a class designed for those who are just starting out on their cooking adventures.  Come along and learn new meal making skills, baking skills, cake decorating (try your hand at making fresh buttercream and piping some beautiful cupcakes, cakes and make flowers), fondant work, pasta making, sushi fun, vegetarian and vegan classes… the list is seemingly endless!

Teenagers: Set them up for flying the nest with Learning to Cook classes. They can work through the “12 step programme”, learning all of the basic (and not so basic!) cooking techniques through 12 recipes. From bolognaise to bread and cakes. Or give them the opportunity to unleash their creativity with cake decorating for teens.  New dates will be announced for a Spring 2022 programme.

Birthday Parties and Private Classes are available on request

Can’t see a class or time that works for you? No problem! Just get in touch with Little Wren Cooking (iwanttocook@outlook.com; message through facebook @littlewrencooking).

Now on You Tube!

Who knew planning, recording and editing cooking vides would take so long!?!

I have created a series of videos that are now available on You Tube for you to cook along to. They have been recorded ‘live’ so that you can cook along at the same time as us.

Here’s the link to Little Wren Cooking’s You Tube channel and some of the videos available –

  • Oven Baked Risotto – https://youtu.be/mQuXcbPUuuI
  • Butter Biscuits (perfect for baking shaped biscuits for decorating later) – https://youtu.be/dTQ3CrGiE7I
  • Blueberry pancakes (a great one for all ages!) – https://youtu.be/-vF-54EIQ5E

I hope to fill it up with wonderful videos that you can cook along to and make some delicious dishes together during this lock down. Cooking is such a great form of escapism at the moment, and produces some tasty results too! Enjoy having the extra time together to learn some amazing life skills.

New – Online Class Dates

Whilst we are all stuck in lock down (except for our one permitted exercise-based-outing a day), it is a perfect time to get into the kitchen and have a little fun with the children and have a try at those recipes you’ve always said “one day” to. Take part in an online class where just you, one kid or more can get involved in making a great selection of bakes and treats. I will be adding more recipes to the list over the coming weeks, but what I have now is as set out below.

Please note that I DO NOT want to encourage any of you out of your home to get ingredients. I have tried to choose recipes that work with what many of you may already have and have put a few different recipes up so hopefully at least one of them will work for you. Many of them will have substitutions available, so please just email iwanttocook@outlook.com to let me know what you are missing.

  • Monday 6th April, from 10:15am: blueberry pancakes for morning tea (a good one for little hands to get involved in);
  • Wednesday 8th April from 2pm: chocolate brownies (perfect in the lead up to Easter). These will need an adult to help as we will be melting the chocolate;
  • Thursday 9th April (TBC) from 4pm: Sausage carbonara (again because it was so delicious the first time!);
  • Saturday 11th April from 10:30am: lemon drizzle cake;
  • Monday 13th April from 11:30am: Corn fritters for lunch (another good option for little hands to get involved);
  • Wednesday 15th April from 7pm: ONE FOR THE GROWN UPS: Macarons. NB: You will need to use an electric beater for this which may make noise if you’ve got little ones trying to sleep;
  • If we are still off school, Monday 20th April – scones and caramel pinwheels (fabulous for little hands again);
  • If we are still going after that, I will share my favourite baked risotto that will bring a smile to anyone’s face!
